HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. \u2014 A 26-year-old man from Venezuela was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly breaking into an ATM at the Lake Trust Credit Union on W Shore Drive and leading authorities on a brief chase.<\/p>\n

At approximately 3:15 a.m., deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff\u2019s Office responded to a report of a break-in at the credit union, located near Riley Street. The suspect, described as a male, was seen tampering with the ATM before fleeing the scene in a silver Ford Fusion.<\/p>\n

Deputies quickly located the suspect’s vehicle, which was seen exiting Greenly Street and entering northbound US-31. A brief pursuit ensued, but the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the median of US-31 near Barry Street. The driver then fled on foot, prompting a large-scale search by law enforcement.<\/p>\n

A perimeter was set up around the area, and a police K-9 unit was deployed to assist in locating the suspect. The dog successfully tracked the man to a hiding spot under industrial equipment, where he was apprehended without further incident.<\/p>\n

The suspect, a Venezuelan national living in Chicago, was taken into custody on multiple charges. His identity has not been released, and he remains held at the Ottawa County Jail while the investigation continues.<\/p>\n

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the break-in was part of a larger criminal operation, but the case remains under active investigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
