KALAMAZOO, Mich. \u2014 Authorities are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning at an apartment on Lafayette Avenue near Weaver Boulevard. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) responded to reports of gunfire just before 3 a.m., where officers discovered a large party taking place.<\/p>\n

Witnesses at the scene reported that an individual had been removed from the apartment prior to the shooting. According to their statements, the individual fired a shot into the ceiling before stepping outside and discharging another round. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.<\/p>\n

As of now, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing. KDPS officials are working to gather further details to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.<\/p>\n

In response to the event, Western Michigan University issued an alert to students in the area, advising them to exercise caution and stay informed about the situation.<\/p>\n
