Lt. Andrew Koeller stated that while there is no specific information suggesting further issues, the decision to bolster the police presence was made out of an &#8220;abundance of caution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"775\">&#8220;We do not have any information there will be any issues today, but out of an abundance of caution, we increased staffing of officers dedicated to the event,&#8221; Lt. Koeller told News 8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"777\" data-end=\"1132\">The Spring Carnival, held annually at Lamar Park, kicked off on Friday and is scheduled to run through April 20. However, Saturday evening saw several juveniles arrested after what authorities described as &#8220;multiple large fights&#8221; broke out. While no injuries were reported in connection with the altercations, the event was shut down earlier than planned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1319\">Lt. Koeller noted that the cause of the fights remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing. The juveniles arrested could face charges, pending a review by the prosecutor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1321\" data-end=\"1564\">As the carnival continues, local law enforcement remains vigilant to prevent any further disturbances.
