RICHLAND, Mich. \u2014 Gull Lake Community Schools will remain closed on Thursday following a threat of school violence directed at Gull Lake High School. The closure comes after an anonymous tip was received, which specifically mentioned May 1 as a date of concern.<\/p>\n

In a letter shared with the school community, Gull Lake Superintendent Christopher Rundle explained that the threat had been taken seriously, and the decision to close the school was made in the interest of student and staff safety. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with authorities working to address the situation as quickly and thoroughly as possible.<\/p>\n

“Once the threat has been adequately addressed by authorities, school will resume,” Rundle said in his communication.<\/p>\n

As part of the closure, all school buildings will be shut down, and all scheduled activities, including Advantage Child Care and after-school programs, have been canceled for Thursday.<\/p>\n

The Richland Police Department is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information regarding the threat to come forward. Tips can be directed to Gull Lake High School Principal Don Eastman or School Resource Officer Deputy Eric Root.<\/p>\n
