COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. \u2014 Michigan State Police (MSP) are investigating the death of a 2-week-old infant found unresponsive at a home in Comstock Township early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on Henning Street, located north of King Highway, prompting authorities to respond to a distress call at approximately 6:45 a.m.<\/p>\n

According to MSP, the infant was reported not breathing and without a pulse when first responders arrived at the scene. The child was immediately transported to a local hospital but was later pronounced dead. At this time, the baby’s identity has not been released to the public.<\/p>\n

MSP has classified the case as a “suspicious death” and is actively conducting interviews with witnesses in the area. Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy and lab tests, which may provide further insight into the cause of death.<\/p>\n

While no arrests have been made, MSP officials stated that once the investigation is concluded, the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. The prosecutor will then determine whether any charges are warranted.<\/p>\n
