GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. \u2014 A Grand Rapids man convicted of attempting to lure a 12-year-old girl into sending sexually explicit images and planning to take her from her Iowa home has been sentenced to prison for multiple felony charges.<\/p>\n

Khristian Michael Bouck, 25, received a sentence this week in Kent County Circuit Court ranging from six to 25 years for aggravated child sexually abusive activity. He was also sentenced to six to 20 years for using a computer to commit a crime. Additionally, Judge Christina Mims imposed a 1.5 to four-year sentence in a separate but related case. All sentences will be served concurrently.<\/p>\n

The investigation into Bouck began when authorities in Iowa alerted Grand Rapids police that he had allegedly been grooming the young girl online. According to court records, Bouck had intended to travel from Michigan to Iowa on July 26 to pick the girl up, instructing her to sneak out of her bedroom window to meet him at the road.<\/p>\n

The girl’s plan was disrupted when she confided in her adult cousin, who intervened. Bouck reportedly arrived in Iowa on the same night and was confronted by members of the girl\u2019s family. Court documents suggest there were also allegations of sexual abuse.<\/p>\n

Following the confrontation, Bouck was arrested in August after a search of his home in Grand Rapids’ North Park neighborhood. During the investigation, authorities linked Bouck to a separate child pornography case, which was later referred to the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children task force.<\/p>\n

Jail records indicate that Iowa authorities have placed a hold on Bouck for potential prosecution on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor.<\/p>\n

In addition to his prison sentence, Bouck will be required to register as a sex offender.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officials have emphasized the collaborative effort between agencies in Michigan and Iowa that led to Bouck’s arrest and conviction, crediting the intervention of the girl’s family and the timely reporting by Iowa authorities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
