Suspect in Custody After Stabbing Incident in Battle Creek

Battle Creek, MI — A 41-year-old woman is in custody after a stabbing incident that took place early Wednesday morning in Battle Creek. According to the Battle Creek Police Department, officers responded to the area of East Michigan Avenue and Division Street just before 6 a.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found a 47-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound to her thigh. Fortunately, her injuries were not life-threatening, police said. The woman informed authorities that the stabbing occurred between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. and provided officers with details regarding the suspect.

Police then proceeded to investigate the location where the incident took place, which was nearby on Michigan Avenue near Pittee Street. There, they apprehended a 41-year-old woman, who was later arrested and taken into custody. Authorities confirmed that the two women involved in the incident are acquainted with each other.

The suspect remains in jail as the Battle Creek Police Department continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
