OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon, which they believe may be connected to a series of recent shootings in the Kalamazoo area.
At approximately 1:15 p.m., the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots near Nottingham Place Apartments, located on Drake Road near Green Meadow Road in Oshtemo Township. Upon arrival, deputies found evidence suggesting multiple shots had been fired in the area.
While investigating the scene, law enforcement learned that a person with a gunshot wound had arrived at a nearby hospital. Detectives later interviewed the individual, who is believed to have been injured during the shooting in question.
Investigators now suspect that the shooting was a targeted event, with a possible connection to other recent incidents in the region. The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety to gather more information and continue the investigation.
