KENTWOOD, Mich. — Four individuals were taken into custody Monday afternoon after shots were fired in a residential neighborhood in Kentwood. The incident occurred around 1 p.m. near the intersection of Ridgebrook Avenue SE and Carriage Hill Drive, located close to 60th Street and Kalamazoo Avenue.
The Kentwood Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered several shell casings and bullet holes at the scene. Authorities also recovered multiple firearms from the location. Despite the evidence of gunfire, police have confirmed that no one was shot during the incident.
In the aftermath, one vehicle involved in the event crashed into an uninvolved vehicle as it fled the scene. The collision resulted in minor injuries to the occupants of the uninvolved car. However, no further details have been provided regarding the extent of their injuries.
The Kentwood Police Department arrested four people in connection with the shooting. The identities of the suspects have not been released, but authorities confirmed that they were transported to the Kent County Jail and the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center.
