EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after he was accused of displaying a firearm in front of a school bus full of children Thursday morning.
According to the Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred on 10 Mile Road. As the school bus passed the man, children reported seeing him display a firearm. The children quickly alerted authorities, which prompted an immediate response from local law enforcement.
Officers located the suspect near the intersection of 10 Mile Road and I Drive North. When officers attempted to approach the man, he ignored their commands to stop and fled the scene on foot. A brief chase ensued, and the man was eventually apprehended by police. He was taken into custody and booked into the Calhoun County Jail.
