WYOMING, Mich. — Authorities are investigating a shooting that took place on Monday afternoon in Wyoming, Michigan. The incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. near Clyde Park Avenue and 28th Street. According to the Wyoming Police Department, a man was shot and sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim’s name and age have not been released by officials.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. Police confirmed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other, indicating that the incident was targeted. As of the latest updates, the suspect has not been apprehended, and authorities are continuing their search.
At approximately 5:45 p.m., a News 8 crew on the scene reported seeing at least nine police vehicles surrounding an apartment complex, with police tape cordoning off the area. Witnesses in the neighborhood reported seeing as many as 16 police vehicles gathered in the vicinity shortly after the shooting occurred, with emergency medical personnel providing treatment to the victim on the porch of a nearby building.
Two ambulances were seen leaving the scene, though no further details about the victim’s condition have been provided.
