CASSOPOLIS, Mich. — Two young suspects, an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old, were arrested Monday afternoon after being found in possession of stolen firearms. The arrests took place around 3 p.m. in a parking lot on School Street in Cassopolis, Michigan.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement officers, including deputies and local police, acted on information gathered by detectives. The suspects were reportedly connected to a burglary at Hayden’s Hardware Store in Cassopolis, where several firearms were stolen back in January. Authorities discovered multiple stolen guns and ammunition during the arrest.
Both suspects have been charged with possession of stolen firearms. Additionally, the 17-year-old faces a charge of breaking and entering in relation to the earlier theft.
