Shooting in Grand Rapids Leaves Man in Critical Condition

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening, leaving a man in critical condition.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., police were called to the scene on Batchawana Street SE, near Englewood Avenue, just off 28th Street, following reports of gunfire. Upon arriving, officers discovered a man who had been shot and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As of 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, the victim’s condition remained critical, according to GRPD. No further details about the shooting or the identity of the victim have been released.

Authorities have not yet provided information regarding potential suspects or the circumstances leading up to the incident. Investigators are continuing to search for clues and piece together the events surrounding the shooting.
