KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that resulted in the death of a 42-year-old man early Wednesday morning, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Riverview Drive and East Paterson Street. Officers were alerted when a witness flagged down a nearby officer and subsequent 911 calls reported the incident.

Responding officers discovered the victim with gunshot wounds to the head and abdomen. Despite immediate first aid efforts and being rushed to a local hospital, the man was pronounced dead shortly after 3 a.m. His identity has not been released.

Officials have withheld the suspect’s identity and further details, stating that more information will be provided Monday following formal charges. The investigation remains ongoing.
