PORT SHELDON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Three individuals were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Port Sheldon Township, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Stanton Street and 146th Avenue, according to a statement from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
A 32-year-old man from Wyoming, Michigan, was driving northbound on 146th Avenue in a Chevrolet truck when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, his vehicle collided with a westbound Dodge Ram that had the right of way.
The driver and passenger of the Dodge Ram, both from Zeeland, were trapped inside their vehicle following the crash. The driver, a 73-year-old man, and his 75-year-old female passenger were both pinned and required extrication. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old man from Wyoming was ejected from his truck upon impact, deputies said.
All three individuals were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office has not provided specifics regarding the severity of their injuries at this time.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
