Zeeland Township, Mich. — A small plane was involved in a crash at Ottawa Executive Airport on Tuesday morning, leaving both passengers shaken but unharmed. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. when a single-engine Cessna 180 experienced difficulty during its landing and subsequently flipped over.

According to deputies, the two people aboard the aircraft were able to safely exit the plane without requiring medical assistance. Both individuals declined treatment on the scene, though their identities have not been disclosed.

The crash has prompted an investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which has taken control of the case to determine the cause of the incident. The circumstances surrounding the plane’s failure to land properly remain unclear at this time.

Authorities have assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more details become available. The Ottawa Executive Airport, located in Zeeland Township, has not reported any other incidents or disruptions in service due to the crash.

While the crash appears to have been a close call, the swift actions of the passengers in exiting the plane and declining medical treatment are a testament to the resiliency of those involved. The FAA’s investigation may shed light on any mechanical or environmental factors that led to the incident.

This is a developing story, and more information will be shared as the investigation progresses.
