COURTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two individuals were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash near Cedar Springs on Thursday, authorities reported.

The incident occurred on 14 Mile Road near Myers Lake, according to a social media post from Michigan State Police (MSP). Police say a westbound vehicle attempted to pass another car but collided with an eastbound Jeep. This initial impact caused both of the westbound vehicles to overturn, with one of them crashing into an eastbound commercial vehicle.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported two people to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Their current conditions have not been released.

The crash forced the closure of 14 Mile Road for several hours as police and emergency personnel worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the incident. The road was reopened around 3 p.m., according to MSP.

Authorities have not yet provided additional details regarding the cause of the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
