72-Year-Old Man Dies After Shooting in Muskegon

MUSKEGON, Mich. — A 72-year-old man died Monday evening after being shot in the stomach in Muskegon, authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. near the intersection of Jiroch Street and Irwin Avenue, according to the Muskegon Police Department. First responders found the man injured at the scene and provided treatment before transporting him to a local hospital.

Despite medical efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Muskegon police are actively searching for suspects but have not released any information regarding potential persons of interest. Detectives from the department continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
