Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Caledonia

Gaines Township, MI – A 26-year-old Allendale man has died following a motorcycle crash near Caledonia on Sunday evening.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene at approximately 5:22 p.m. after a collision involving a motorcycle and a minivan. The crash occurred on Kalamazoo Avenue, just north of 100th Street in Gaines Township.

Investigators say both vehicles were traveling northbound when the accident occurred. The motorcyclist, who was identified as a 26-year-old male from Allendale, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the minivan, a 41-year-old woman from Caledonia, sustained minor injuries and did not require immediate medical attention.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

This tragic event serves as a reminder of the potential dangers on the road, particularly for motorcyclists. The community is left to mourn the loss of a young life in this unfortunate accident.
