HOWARD CITY, Mich. — A frightening incident unfolded Monday night when a pickup truck crashed into the outdoor seating area of a local ice cream shop, injuring several people, including an 11-year-old child. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Ensley Street near Walnut Street.
According to Michigan State Police, the chain of events began when a vehicle traveling south on Ensley Street attempted to turn into the path of a pickup truck. The collision between the two vehicles caused the truck to veer off course, sending it through the outdoor seating area of an ice cream shop located on the east side of the street. In addition to striking two parked vehicles, the truck also hit an 11-year-old child who was standing in line at the time.
