GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Authorities have shut down a strip club in Detroit after video evidence surfaced showing minors being allowed inside the establishment.
The Detroit Police Department (DPD) executed a search warrant at Legendary Sting, located on the city’s west side, after being alerted to the presence of underage individuals within the club. The investigation began after a concerned mother contacted authorities, claiming she had seen her child in a video filmed at the venue. Some of the minors featured in the footage were reportedly as young as 14 years old.
According to local reports from News 8 affiliate WDIV-TV, the incident was first brought to light on April 26, when police were notified of the potential violations. DPD officers subsequently entered the club, escorting several minors out of the premises. In addition, investigators seized all video and recording equipment related to the case, which is expected to play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation.
DPD Chief Todd Bettison addressed the situation in a public statement, emphasizing the department’s commitment to holding the establishment accountable. “We have got video evidence, and we will be bringing the case against this establishment right here,” Bettison said. “To party promoters or anybody, if you’re going to have parties and entice our children into establishments and venues meant for adults, we will use every aspect of city government to shut you down.”
As of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. However, police have vowed to pursue legal action against the venue, with Bettison making it clear that authorities would not tolerate such violations of child safety.
The closure of Legendary Sting serves as a reminder of the critical need for vigilance in protecting minors from being exposed to adult-oriented environments. The case remains under investigation as the police continue to gather evidence and assess the full scope of the situation.
Authorities have yet to comment on whether other venues may be under investigation for similar violations. Meanwhile, the case has raised concerns among parents and community members about the safety and well-being of children in the city.
