GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A domestic assault early Sunday morning left both a man and a woman injured, prompting a response from the Grand Rapids Police Department.
At approximately 4 a.m., officers arrived at the scene near Sutton Street SW and Division Avenue, where a male suspect had barricaded himself inside a residence. The situation unfolded as the woman and children managed to exit the home safely.
Following a brief negotiation, the suspect surrendered to law enforcement and was taken into custody without further incident. Both the man and woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with the woman being transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Fortunately, the children present at the home were unharmed during the ordeal.
