KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A fire broke out at a storage unit in Kalamazoo Township on Saturday night, leaving one person with serious burn injuries. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene near Healey Street and Lake Street at approximately 11:50 p.m.

According to Kalamazoo Township Fire Marshal Todd Kowalski, a male victim, whose identity and age have not been disclosed, sustained significant burn injuries. The individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, authorities have not determined the cause of the fire, and the incident remains under investigation. Fire officials are working to gather more details and assess any potential safety concerns that may have contributed to the blaze.

No other injuries or property damage have been reported at this time, and it is unclear whether anyone else was inside or near the storage unit when the fire occurred.

The Kalamazoo Township Fire Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
