BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a wooded area of Byron Township. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the deceased is a man in his late 30s. His body was recovered from Rush Creek, located off Kenowa Avenue near 64th Street.

Deputies are currently working to determine how the body ended up in the wooded area and the cause of death. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place this week to help provide more insight into the situation. The Kent County Sheriff’s Office has not released further details as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office.
