GREEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 44-year-old woman from Frankfort was hospitalized Monday night after a single-vehicle crash on US-131, just north of Big Rapids.
The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, near the intersection of 22 Mile Road. According to deputies from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office, the woman’s vehicle hit a patch of ice, causing her to lose control. The car then ran off the road, rolling multiple times before coming to a stop.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment. Thankfully, authorities reported that her injuries were not life-threatening.
The sheriff’s office is urging drivers to remain cautious in winter conditions, particularly in areas prone to ice, as the winter weather continues to pose hazards on local roadways.
