WYOMING, Mich. — A 19-year-old driver was treated at the hospital Wednesday morning following a rollover crash on northbound US-131 in Wyoming.

The incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. near 44th Street, according to the Michigan State Police. Authorities report that the driver was traveling at a high speed in the left lane when he attempted to merge into the far-right lane. In the process, the car struck the front left side of another vehicle, causing the driver to lose control.

The car then veered off the roadway and rolled multiple times before coming to a stop. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the 19-year-old driver, a man from Hudsonville, to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he was released after being evaluated for his injuries.

The other driver involved in the crash was unharmed, authorities confirmed. Michigan State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, though speed and improper lane change are believed to have played significant roles.

While the incident was alarming, it serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices and paying attention to road conditions, especially on busy highways like US-131.
