ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two people were injured in a head-on collision Monday afternoon, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on East Fulton Street, near Sargent Avenue. According to Michigan State Police (MSP), a Subaru traveling eastbound crossed the center line of the road. In an attempt to avoid a crash, the driver of a westbound pickup truck swerved, but the vehicles ultimately collided head-on.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Authorities did not release their identities, but MSP stated that their conditions remained critical at the time of reporting.

Emergency responders closed the eastbound lanes of East Fulton Street at Bennet Street SE as they worked to clear the scene. The closure caused some traffic disruptions in the area, but no further details were available regarding the investigation.

Authorities continue to look into the cause of the crash, urging drivers to use caution on the road.
