BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A shooting at a mobile home park in Byron Township left one man with life-threatening injuries Sunday evening, authorities report. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. at Camelot Manor, located on North Harewood Drive.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, multiple calls came in reporting a shooting at the location. Deputies arrived on the scene to find a 36-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance, where he was undergoing surgery for his injuries, which have been described as serious and life-threatening.

Authorities apprehended the suspect, an 18-year-old man, shortly after he fled the scene. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, though his identity has not been released. Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting and have not disclosed the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office has urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward as detectives continue their investigation. No further details have been provided at this time.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and additional updates will be released as more information becomes available.
