One Dead in Head-On Crash in Spencer Township

Spencer Township, Mich. – A fatal crash in northeastern Kent County claimed the life of one driver Thursday afternoon. The collision occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on Lincoln Lake Avenue near 19 Mile Road in Spencer Township.

According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the crash involved a head-on collision between an SUV and a pickup truck. Authorities report that one of the vehicles crossed the center line, leading to the impact. A photo released by the sheriff’s office showed the front of the pickup truck severely damaged, while the SUV was overturned.

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released. The other driver involved in the crash sustained only minor injuries, deputies confirmed. Both vehicles were reported to have no passengers.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Further details will be released as more information becomes available.
